HOME-MADE DOG BISCUITS
Ingerdients

3/4 cup meat drippings, or beef broth

1/3 cup margarine

1/2 cup powdered milk

1   egg

3 cups whole wheat flour

In a large bowl, pour heated meat drippings over margarine to melt. Add powdered milk,beaten egg and a pinch of salt. Slowly add flour 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well. The dough will be stiff. Roll dough to 1/2" thickness and cut with your favorite cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet treated with fat-free, non-stick baking spray. Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool and store in air-tight container. Makes about 2 dozen.
CAT'S MEOW COOKIES


Ingredients

1 lb beef liver

4 eggs

1 cup cornmeal

2 large garlic cloves, minced
Cut liver into several small pieces. Mix liver with eggs, cornmeal and garlic in a blender or food processor until smooth. Pour into 8 inch square baking pan that has been treated with fat-free non-stick cooking spray. Pre-heat oven. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, cut into bite-size squares and serve. Store in air-tight container in refrigerator.
BARKIN' BIRTHDAY CAKE

Ingredients

2 cups wheat germ

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup cornmeal

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

2 cups chicken broth

2 cloves garlic, minced
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Add eggs, oil, broth and minced garlic. Stir until well blended. Prepare Bundt pan or two 8" baking pans with liberal coating of shortening. Sprinkle pan(s) lightly with flour. Pre-heat oven. Pour and bake cake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Let cool before removing cake(s) from pan. Before serving, drizzle with small amount of chicken gravy.
CHILLY POOCH POPS
Ingredients

1 quart fruit juice

1 ripe banana, mashed

1/2 cup plain yogurt


Blend juice, banana and yogurt thoroughly in a blender. Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and/or popsicle containers and freeze. Serve picnic style on the grass, or in your pup's bowl. Great for hot weather. Makes about 48 cubes, ice-cube tray size.
WHISKER-LICKIN' SHRIMP SALAD
Ingredients

3 ounces small, pre-cooked shrimp

1/4 cup freshly cut grass, chopped finely (may use "cat grass" if available)

1/3 cup clam juice
No cooking required. Break shrimp into small pieces. Mix shrimp, grass and clam juice in bowl. Single serving.
LIP-SMACKIN' DOG BROWNIES
Ingredients

TURKEY JERKY FOR DOGS
Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

2 teaspoons low-sodium teriyaki sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon ginger
Mix all ingredients and spread thinly across a full cookie sheet. Bake for two hours at 170 degrees. Using paper towels, blot grease from jerky. Slice jerky into one-inch strips, turn over and return to the oven. Bake for two more hours at 170 degrees. Cool and store in freezer.
BANANA CAROB DOG COOKIES
Ingredients

1 1/2 cups ripe bananas, mashed

1/4 cup applesauce

3 cups uncooked oatmeal

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup carob chips
Stir together all ingredients until mixed. Roll into balls the size of small walnut. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Press flat with a fork. Pre-heat oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool before serving. Store in refrigerator. Makes approximately 30 cookies
